It has been a great blessing of GOD to pastor this church for the past 30 plus years. It has a glorious and full history. I believe the church was blessed because one man of GOD had a vision from the Holy Spirit to show the world that we are not ashamed of the name of JESUS CHRIST; this was the first pastor Brother Scott W. Hickey who put up the neon sign with blood red letters that says, “JESUS SAVES” to light our path. He obeyed GOD’S WORD:

“Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.”

    — Matthew 10:32

I pray GOD will give us the boldness to continue to say to the world that the name of JESUS is the name above all others. Our path is straight before us to be the witness for JESUS CHRIST. In a time when the world is trying to destroy all that GOD stands for may we remain humble and bold about our LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. Donna and I thank you for your love and support. GOD has Blessed and will continue to.

    “Smile God Loves You”

  • Welcome to our church

    Welcome to our church

While our “official” name is Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, folks around this part of the country know us as “The Jesus Saves Church”. That is because for over 50 years, we have had a big glowing neon sign on the front of our building proclaiming “Jesus Saves” and we know that’s true!

We are a Bible-believing, New Testament, old fashioned ‘country’ church. Visitors are welcomed warmly and we still sing the old hymns. If you’re looking for a new church home, we hope you’ll stop by and attend. We’d love to have you!
